Beauty with a Conscience

At Ash + Oak, we are deeply committed to sustainability and minimizing our carbon footprint. Our floral philosophy revolves around using seasonal blooms to reduce environmental impact. We source over 50% of our flowers from local organic farmers, with the remaining 50% also sourced locally. We consciously avoid flowers that require importation specifically for your event, ensuring our selections are as eco-friendly as possible.

Our studio operates with a strong emphasis on waste management and environmental stewardship. We compost, recycle, and reuse materials whenever possible. In 2023, 65% of our vases were created by skilled local artists in California, with an additional 10% sourced from a small artisan near our Mexico headquarters. Each year, we carefully curate new options for our inventory, which are used across all 30 weddings we undertake. For our À La Carte Elopement orders, we occasionally incorporate non-local elements and utilize simple glass vases for bridal bouquets.

We believe that offering the best means prioritizing sustainability. At Ash + Oak, we avoid unnecessary plastic or foam in our installations and arrangements, opting instead for innovative alternatives like Agra wool and reusable water tubes. By reducing our reliance on traditional floral foam and choosing organic blooms, we address the broader issues of environmental impact and pesticide use in our industry.

Our commitment extends beyond flowers; we are passionate about giving back to our communities and supporting causes that matter to us. Ash + Oak proudly supports the LGBTQIA+ community and contributes to local charities in San Francisco, Oakland, and Mexico.
